Intracultural Practice Master Class, Sydney NSW

Kristine Landon-Smith (MPhil), Tamasha (UK) former Artistic Director and expert on Intracultural Theatre Practice, leads a masterclass for actors* seeking to enhance their artform.   During each course, Kristine will work closely with each individual in the ensemble applying her acclaimed intracultural methodology to classic and contemporary texts.

Auditor places are also available**

Influenced by French pedagogue Philippe Gaulier, Kristine’s intracultural approach focuses on utilizing the cultural context of the performer engaging with all the aspects of one’s personality and bringing that to the stage.  This tried and tested methodology empowers actors and theatre makers to work with difference rather from a starting point of neutrality. The practice has received acclaim for it’s ability to position the actor as an integral part of building a character.

Kristine focuses on play: how to help the actor play well at all times : in games, improvisation and text. Kristine’s particular practice helps each actor understand what is unique to them and how to work in order to bring their own self to the stage in any role. Participants will explore Kristine’s unique actor-centred model and apply it to classic and contemporary texts .
