Transferring my work with actors in theatre to a film medium has always interested me. Very recently after working a lot on Zoom at the height of Covid, I discovered how to use the platform to make a short film: Vishwamitri Villas is the result of that - an experimental, improvised film on Zoom which has now won a number of laurels in short film festivals . I have also made two other short films : Back Chat which was improvised with my two sons driving around a suburb of Sydney, Australia and Midnight Feast which was drawn from the Tamasha Theatre Production of Balti Kings by Sudha Bhuchar and Shaheen Khan. My most recent film is Looking For You , a headphone verbatim film about the Vietnamese diaspora seen through the eyes of the mother daughter relationship in Vietnamese culture.
