Wild Cherries

by Daniel Keene, Directed by Kristine Landon-Smith

I was delighted to be able to revisit the play Wild Cherries by Daniel Keene, a quiet and poignant work of modern day slavery with 3rd year students on the BA Acting Course at St Mary's. I first directed this work in 2023 at RADA with 3rd year students and it was such a pleasure to be able to come to it again and explore the poetry and depth of sentiment that Daniel Keene so elegantly delivers on the page. Our job was to bring this to life and as a company we have felt privileged to work on a text of such clarity and beauty. It was also my pleasure to work again with the creative team made up of Emily Sions, Alistair Milne, Lesley Talbot and Beth Scott who are the dream team.
